Let’s Celebrate! Overview of Anniversary 2012!


Time flies and it is already July! What else do you have in mind about July except summer holiday?

 

Right! It is the birthday of Ninja Saga! Three years ago, the game was put on Facebook. We still remember how we kept refreshing the fan page to view the number of fans grew from single digit to thousands! If you have been in the game for long enough, you would probably have witnessed how the game started with merely a few missions and just 20 levels, while now with all sorts of other features – exam, bosses, clans, talents, PvP and many other exciting events; you might also participated in the first two anniversary events and gained some of the limited prizes!

So, what are we going to have this year to celebrate the third anniversary?

The 3rd anniversary of Ninja Saga will be consisted of 5 main parts. To celebrate, very much alike the previous two years, there will be a lot of free prizes for everyone. Some other new features will also be introduced.

 

Shinobi Anniversary Arena - A battle arena where you meet worldwide players & our new NPCs!

* The feature will be available from 17 July onwards.

 

The Arena is a place where you fight both NPCs and other players, not necessarily friends of yours though, to be on top and win prizes!

In the Arena, there are two paths to get prizes, to fight random Ninja Saga players and to fight NPCs. Victory of every battle will gain you some rare materials for claiming the special set of anniversary prizes in the Materials Market!

 

Battle Opponents

The path fighting other Ninja Saga players is very much a combination of the very traditional Challenge Friend feature and the exciting PvP battle. When a battle is started, the system will pick you a random player of Ninja Saga whose level is similar to your character to be your opponent. Your opponent will be controlled by AI, though, the skills and the equipments of the opponent will still be of his or her own choice. In other words, you might also be picked to fight against a player from the other side of the planet! Do prepare your characters - wear the best outfits and equip the best combo set!

 

On the other path are the new NPCs especially designed for this Arena – these NPCs are the elites from the Five Great Villages and they are very good at the elemental skills of their village. They drop different kinds of materials than the battles against players. 

 

Battle Energy

To fight in Shinobi Anniversary Arena, you will need some battle energy!

 

Here are the required items to start the fights.

Fight against Players: 10 energy

Fight against NPCs: 10 energy + Heart of Crystal + Friendship Kunai (2nd battle only)

 

Everyone can have 50 energy at maximum. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough – energy replenishes every 20 minutes. You can also get more by purchasing it. Try to get more gift bags – you might find energy inside!

 

Battle Progress

As much as the battle flow diagram looks like a skill tree, it functions a little bit differently. Winning every battle will give you battle loots as well as 20% battle progress. When you reach 60%, you can either proceed, or reset it to 0% so that you may start again and focus on getting specific battle loots.

 

Do note that:

  1. Battle progress will be reset after you completed all the 5 battles.

  2. Battle progress will be automatically saved.

  3. Battle progress will not proceed if you have not won the battle.

 

Battle Rewards

Every battle drops you different kind of rare materials. Claim your battle loots from the Material Market. Have a look on what you will get!

 

Anniversary Point - Free Items for the Big Spenders!

* The feature will be available from 24 July onwards.

 

How about getting free gifts by shopping? A set of rewards have been designed and are ready for the spenders! Every single Token you spend from 24 July until the end of the anniversary celebration will get you Anniversary Points. When you have certain amount of Anniversary Points, you can use them to redeem special gifts!!

How to View My Progress?

To view how many Anniversary Points you have during the event period, just click the Lucky Cat icon. Check frequently to see your progress!

 

Note:

1) Every Token spending within the game, from purchasing items, Token-Gold conversion to clan creation with be counted. Donation to clan and Tokens spent on upgrade of clan buildings, though, will not be taken into account.

2) The Token spending record will not be reset after you claim a prize. In other words, after you claimed the Kari Badges for spending 5 Tokens, you need to spend only 45 more Tokens to meet the requirement to get the next item, Ninja Essence.

3) The set of gifts can only be claimed once per character.

4) The Token consumption record is counted on character basis.

Happy Father’s Day – The Visit of the Fathers?!


Father’s Day is just around the corner! What is your plan? Well, it seems that a few buddies of yours have great plans with their dads! Right! The fathers of the fierce tailed-beasts who have always fought together with you are coming to the Village of Fire to visit their sons! Of course, they are also here to meet you, the friend and master of their beloved sons. By the way, in the dictionary of the world of tailed-beasts, “meet” also means “challenge”! So, ready?

Challenge Accepted! Where to Start?

The fathers who look exactly like their sons, only even fiercer and much more powerful will be in the Hunting House, awaiting you to see if you are good enough for their buddies.

To accept the challenge, you can enter Hunting House, or click on the coffee cup icon which is on the left side of the game screen, and proceed to start battle! In the Hunting House map, apart from the two usual fighting options you have, one of the fathers of the tailed-pets will also be there! Just click on its head and the ‘meeting’ is on!

There are a few things that you might want to pay attention to:

  1. There is only one mode of battle: 1 versus 1

Well, you know how good your pet is. And now, imagine how much better their parents could be! That would be too dangerous for you to fight 2 of them together! By the way, your pet will definitely outgrow their dads sooner or later under your superb training!

  1. No Kari Badge is needed!

Since it is the parents who want to meet and test you, just head in and accept the challenge! You will not need any Kari Badges for the fights.

  1. The tailed-bosses drop materials.

Upon winning a fight against every dad of your tailed-pets, the dads, like other Hunting House bosses, will drop you materials! In fact, all of them drop one same kind of material – the Soul of Tailed Beast. This material is used for claiming the ultimate Father’s Day Reward! Make sure you have got adequate of them!

  1. You can win one battle against each tailed-boss everyday.

Similar to the old Hunting House system and every other festival boss, fathers of the tailed-pets will stay for the day until you take them down! So, there is no need to worry if you could not get enough material for the ultimate reward; as long as you are courageous and hardworking enough, everyone is going to be able to get the prize!

The Ultimate Reward – Tailed Beast Pets!

Once you have got the right materials, you can proceed to exchange your reward – tailed beasts as your temporary pets!

 

Where to claim?

The 5 tailed beasts are now available again in Materials Market. You can also enter the Market by short cut, the Father’s Day coffee cup icon. The pets are under the pet tab.

How are the tailed beasts temporary?

The tailed beasts, once claimed, will be under your care and training for 14 days. Do note that:

  1. The timer starts counting once you claimed the pet.
  2. You can own all the 5 expiry tailed beasts at the same time.
  3. You can claim the same pet repeatedly.
  4. The pets do level up during the training session.
  5. The tailed beasts will only be available in Materials Market during the Father’s Day event.

 

What will happen when the 14-day training session is ended?

When a tailed beast is expired, awe will remind you with some pop-up messages with options to return the pet, or to extend the training session by 14 days, 21 days or for good!

Since you must have leveled up your tailed pet during the initial 14-day training session, it would be easier to continue training it as the experience gained can be piled up!

Be Materialistic! The Establishment of Materials Market!


We have heard you received a lot of dusts, spells, essences, bones, pelts etc. from battling against the immortal bosses with Ninja Kari Gumi. What are you going to do with these materials?

Exchange them for the new set of boss weapons and other rare stuffs and upgrade weapons in the Materials Market!

Materials Market is now open in Ninja Saga, also hosted by Blacksmith Habo. In fact, Habo is replacing his very first Blacksmith House with his new business, because after many trial-and-error forging experiments, Habo has discovered new ways to forge many more weapons and other items with materials! What do you have in hand now? Probably can exchange them with Habo for a Yanki Blade or Byakko Claw?

Say Goodbye to Blacksmith House
With the introduction of the new Hunting House, bosses no longer drop magatama but materials. Hence, Blacksmith House and magatama will be gradually taking over by Materials Market and materials. Don’t be sad – they serve the same functions, but with more variety and better fun!

Key Changes
There are a few important changes in the weapon forging system.

  1. New List of Upgrade Weapons

Together with the launch of Materials Market, a new set of upgrade weapons will be available! Too add excitement and variables to battles, the original list of upgrade weapons will also extinct from the market with Blacksmith House! If you have always been wishing to get certain upgrade weapons, do it as soon as possible! Blacksmith House will stay open till May 29th 2011 – you may still use magatama to forge weapons!

  1. New set of Boss Weapons

As you can see, a new set of boss weapons are already available in Materials Market for players of different levels! These boss weapons are re-designed, basing on the traits of every boss! Hope you like them!

In the previous Hunting House design, to get a boss weapon, it is completely based on one’s luck. Nothing is guaranteed, not skill, not cooperation, but pure fortune. In the new Hunting House, instead of that, bosses drop materials of different kinds and players can use them to exchange for the boss weapons if they collect every material required. We hope that with this design, every player, as long as you fight bosses, will be able to obtain every boss weapons. Of course, some materials will be harder to obtain, but in this design, you can still get these rare materials by other methods.

  1. From Magatama to Materials

Previously, you can use magatama to upgrade weapon and train pet skills. As said, to do so starting from now, you will have to collect all the materials required.

Note that although you will not be getting any more new magatama, they are still useful currency until May 29th 2011 – you can exchange magatama for materials or Gold. To do this, you may enter “Hunting House”, and then click “Form Materials”; there you will be able to see how you can spend your magatama.

We have been talking about how bosses will drop materials. In fact, there are a few types of materials, and all of them will be required to exchange for items! Have a look at the following table:

You will get 2 types of materials from Hunting House bosses – common and rare.

Common materials will be dropped by every boss, while rare materials will only be dropped by one or a few bosses.

Win the boss battles!

Fight against one boss at a time and you will receive 3 materials; fight against two and you will get 6!

Material – Heart of Kari

Heart of Kari is one of the most essential materials Habo needs. Almost every item in Materials Market requires Heart of Kari to complete! Fortunately, it is not too difficult to obtain if you are in a good team.

Find the icon of Heart of Kari at the top right hand corner, post your need on your wall to let your friends know. Once your friends clicked your post, you will get some Heart of Kari.

 

Vice versa, help your friends by clicking their posts; you will also get Heart of Kari for being helpful!

Material – Crystal of Kari

Another important material to exchange items. Again, you will get abundant of it if you have got good ninja friends.

Find the icon of Crystal of Kari at the top right hand corner and request your friends to send you some.

Of course, responding to your friends’ requests for getting Crystal of Kari will also get you some of them as well!

The amount of materials you need to exchange for a weapon is largely depended on how powerful the weapon is. Now that there is no limit for daily boss fights, start collecting materials and exchange the best weapons for your characters!

  1. Weapon Effects in Constant Value

Items in Materials Market are similar to those in Blacksmith House – they have special effects. However, not all effects are going to be in percentage, for instance, damage-related or extra HP/CP is now in constant value.

Why is it so? We know all of you prefer a few upgrade weapons and always use only them, even when your level already doubled, or tripled the weapons’ level because of their favorable effects. However, due to the level gap between you and your weapon, the damage it can deliver to your enemy is very little. It is not fun, and the significance of weapon to attack is not significant at all. With the new design, players will be prompted to use weapons of their levels! Well, we will be careful when we design the effects, so as to make every single one of them attractive to equip!

Reformation of Hunting House – The Rise of Ninja Kari Gumi!


There has always been a sophisticated balance between the world of humans and that of the wild animals; humans construct villages, develop civilization and develop towards the jungle, but never penetrating into it, as they are perfectly aware of the beauty and importance of nature; while the wild beasts, though they occasionally get lost and break into villages, they mostly make very few casualties and create only disturbances; they attack only if they are being attacked.

However, affected by the recent abnormal chakra flow in the air, some animals, especially those wild in instinct and have lived for a long period, have evolved and gained battle intelligence. Besides, without proper taming and attaining also the battle etiquette, these evolved animals have started to attack villagers on purpose, just to satisfy their thirst for blood. Byakko, Tengu and Shikagami Yanki are some of those evolved animals and you probably might have encountered them from time to time.

Recently, because the amount of such bosses and the frequency they created troubles have been greatly increasing, it is sensed that there might be an invisible hand controlling everything behind. The five Great Villages, namely the Village of Fire, Water, Earth, Lightning and Wind have come together and each sent some of their best ninjas to form Ninja Kari Gumi, in order to investigate the mysterious chakra flow as well as maintain the subtle relationship between the humans and the beasts. This newly formed inter-village organization is now recruiting talented ninja to join and hunt the bosses that try to create troubles! Would you like to join them and safeguard the peaceful world?

Why is Hunting House Revamped?

The current game design allows players to fight each boss only once a day. It is kind of hardcore. To make this game feature more fun to play, some changes have been implemented and are as follows!

  1. Who to Fight?

As usual, click into “Hunting House” building.

Instead of finding the list of bosses of different levels as before, you now can find a world map.Hunting House's world map

The world, as you can see, is divided into 5 main parts, differentiated by the colors. They represent the 5 greatest villages in the country – the Fire, the Water, the Wind, the Earth and the Lightning. Every time you enter Hunting House, random bosses will appear in any of the 2 districts. To start the fight, just click the head of the boss you wish to challenge, and the battle will commence!

In other words, you won’t know who to fight until you enter Hunting House! Besides, when you re-enter Hunting House after you have finished one boss battle, there will still be 2 random bosses for you to choose to fight next!

  1. How to Fight?

You will need 5 Kari Badges to start a boss battle. Kari Badge is free and can be obtained in a few ways.

Daily log in
Just log in everyday, and you will receive free Kari Badges! Premium users will receive 10 and free users will receive 5.

Send friend request
Send Facebook requests to your friends to ask for Kari Badges and respond to your friend’s requests. Both the one requesting and responding will receive Kari Badges!

Get a Gift Bag
Kari Badges will be one of the items that you can choose when gifting your friends! Tell your friends what you want from the pool and get them for free!

Others
Free Kari Badges will be given in special occasions, like the egg hunting event we are having now, and in other parts of the game! Just pay attention to the game news!

Battle: Easy Mode? Hard Mode?
The most exciting parts of this reformation must be the change of the boss battle system! Let’s have a look at each of them!

Ever since the Hunting House is launched, we have been tuning the difficulty level of the bosses from time to time. If you could recall, at the very beginning, a level 20 player might have hard time to knock down the level 10 boss, Ginkotsu even if he teamed up with 2 other level 20 players, and every boss could resist stun 100%; there was almost no ways to lock their movements, given that there were not many kinjutsu available back then. Throughout this period, we have been adjusting how skillful the bosses are and tuning their battle intelligence. As you might notice, lower level bosses are easier to kill, while the higher level bosses require more strategies to tackle with. However, there must be hardcore and casual players at all levels; such design cannot satisfy all of their gaming needs.

That’s why in the new Hunting House, you can choose whether you want to fight boss in easy mode or hard mode!

As mentioned earlier, when you enter Hunting House, boss icons appear on 2 random places – one of them is in easy mode, where you will fight only 1 boss; the other one is in hard mode, where you will fight 2 bosses!

Just a random piece of intel – the two tengu, who you probably had headache fighting them when you were still chunin, will not pair up all the time anymore! You might encounter one of them in easy mode, or one tengu pair up with another random boss (or still pair up together) in hard mode! Good luck!

Battle: Random Levels!?
When we designed the bosses, every single one of them has its uniqueness and elemental build. For example, Ginkotsu is wind-based and so it is good at accuracy, while Yanki is fire-based and so it loves to burn target. Every boss is fun to fight with. However, as one level up, though the bosses still use the same skills, due to the level gap between you and them, it is no longer challenging to fight them. What a pity!

Therefore, in the new Hunting House, it will be your level that determines the levels of the bosses! The bosses that will appear on the Hunting House’s map will be +/- 5 levels of your character! That is, if you are level 10, you might fight a level 5 Soul General Mutoh; if you are level 80, you might fight a level 85 Yanki! Exciting, huh?

One more thing, to protect you from being molested by the bosses, a level requirement is now set for entering Hunting House – you have to be at least level 5. Well, we are sure talented ninja like you can reach level 5 in just a few minutes!

  1. New Battle Rewards!
    Bosses will not drop magatama and weapons anymore! Instead, they drop you materials, which are usually parts of their body like feathers and bones. These materials can be used in Materials Market to exchange for useful weapons.

Every boss drops common materials and also its unique rare materials. In other words, to obtain a particular rare material, you need to fight the boss that owns it.

One tip to gain extra materials – every time you win a boss battle, you will be asked if you wish to gift some extra material to your friends. Just click share! Once your friends clicked and claimed your shares, you will also be rewarded extra materials as well!

有關戰鬥系統的更改


從開發實時PvP以來,玩家們一直都從不同方面向我們反映,希望增設戰鬥獎勵。推出私人房間後,戰鬥更激烈,相關訴求更是接踵而來!事實上,我們已在籌備實時PvP的獎賞制度,也正從各方收集關於獎賞形式的意見!不過,在正式推出該獎賞制度前,考慮到現時的戰鬥系統尚有改善之處,我們會先為忍者傳說的戰鬥系統作出一系列的修改,為求讓玩家能體驗更刺激的戰鬥,令玩家在對戰時有更多的戰術選擇!以下便為首輪的修正!

暈眩技能-當玩家們都像Boss般能抵禦暈眩!
我們認為遊戲內能將敵人暈眩的技能會讓玩家過於側重某些禁術的組合,而令對戰變得單一化。經常進行實時PvP的大家,或許比我們更清楚,整場戰鬥被暈眩術鎖著而動彈不得的苦況;另一方面,使用暈眩術把對手鎖著,繼而迅速幹掉對方固然乾淨利落,也充滿快感,但每次也千篇一律,不免會感到既膩且悶吧!

推出暈眩技能的時候,我們本不打算把它設計為必然的效果,所以,我們將會針對暈眩作出修改-所有玩家們都會對暈眩有抵禦的能力!這並不單指推出某些技能免疫或解除暈眩,而是設定成忍者們天生就對暈眩有一定程度的抵抗力,就像狩獵屋的Boss一般!每次打算鎖著Boss卻無效時感到很懊惱吧?是時候也讓你的對手懊惱一下了!習慣使用暈眩術把對手鎖著的你,也請藉此機會鍛鍊你的臨場戰鬥能力!想當然,狩獵屋Boss抵抗暈眩的能力自是比忍者們高得多。

是次關於暈眩技能的修正是要提供予玩家能抵抗暈眩的機會。暈眩技能依然能讓你在戰鬥時喘息,並有效地運用不同的術的組合!只是當戰鬥帶點不確定的因素,定能增添意想不到的樂趣!此外,我們亦會逐漸在遊戲內增加不同的技能、物品及消耗品,用以消除暈眩、或加強抵禦暈眩的能力等。

命中率-閃避率的天敵!
在忍者世界裡,速度便是戰勝之訣-只要行動夠迅速,你便能主動出撃,或是有效地看穿敵人的動作,繼而閃避。換言之,閃避率是很能代表忍者傳統的一個數值。

某些玩家經過計算之後,靠著增加風的點數、或是裝備提升閃避率的技能及物品,而組合出閃避率極高的忍者。正如剛剛提到,只要有速度就有勝算,提高自身的閃避率實是非常明智且有效的戰鬥方向。然而,隨著風系忍者晉升更高的等級,閃避率亦因此大大提高,令他們幾乎擁有完全的防禦。所謂「無敵乃最寂寞」,縱然因此而戰無不勝,無論是自己抑或對手,這樣子的戰鬥根本談不上刺激有趣吧!

速度乃忍者世界的重要數值,我們並不會削減忍者們的閃避能力。但我們亦希望在戰鬥時能有更多有效的傷害輸出,所以,經過種種考量後,我們決定增設「命中率」,以抵銷閃避率。

在遊戲裡,原本就存在著各種技能或裝備能讓忍者們成功擊中目標,例如火系的「火鳳氣息」、雷系的「鳴神之鎧」和屬於幻術的「闇逐珈鎖」等。現時,我們以「攻擊無視目標的閃避率」類的字眼來形容它們的功效。由於描述或未夠清晰,且不一致,在這次更改戰鬥系統的同時,我們亦決定統一所有能有效對抗閃避數值的效果,命名為「命中率」。

在我們的設定裡,所有忍者本來就擁有100%的命中率。當遇著沒有風系點數、且未有裝備任何具閃避屬性的技能或道具的對手時,玩家擁有近乎必中的機會(所有忍者天生就有5%閃避率)!只有當遇到擁有更高閃避屬性的對手時,玩家才需要更高的命中率以更頻密的擊中對手。

如前述,提升速度及閃避屬性是既聰明也有效的戰鬥方法。增設「命中率」這屬性原意是要提供玩家另一個戰鬥的選擇。我們亦會推出不同的技能、物品及消耗品,用以增強玩家的命中率,使玩家能以戰略對抗敵人的高速。

束縛技能只限制特定動作!
在現時的遊戲設定中,當玩家被束縛時,就不能使用任何技能。每次筆者被束縛著的時候,都感到很困擾-不錯,是還可以蓄力、或以武器攻擊、或使用消耗品,但每種選擇都如雞肋,不使用又不是、用了又如以卵擊石!當然,遇上這些情況只好怪自己技不如人,但想起當初設計束縛技能的原意並不是要玩家動彈不得、如被暈眩一樣,就知道是時候要修正這些技能了!

若你在忍者傳說待得久,或許會知道最初推出的束縛技能是家族戰鬥獎賞,「禁術:封脈掌」。此技能的作用是藉著打擊敵人的穴位,以停止對方查克拉的流動,從而制止敵人使出忍術,而並非另一種形式的暈眩術。可是,久而久之,由於被束縛的時候,其他戰鬥選擇也形同虛切,束縛技能也漸變得與暈眩技能無異!為了讓束縛技能有更合符原本期待的效果,我們將作出一些改動,用以區分束縛及暈眩技能!

在不久的將來,所有束縛技能,包括上述的「封脈掌」,將只適用於風火雷水土系的忍術,以及幻術;亦即是說,即使玩家被束縛,仍然可以使用體術、天賦血脈及秘術還擊!這樣的改動不但符合忍者世界的設定(體術本來就不需耗用太多查克拉,而天賦血脈及秘術也是與生俱來的),也可讓玩家們在使用技能時能運用更多的策略和組合,使對戰更加刺激。

暈眩技能、命中率及束縛技能只是近期著手準備的更改!在我們的計劃當中,還有其他的改動,當中包括有針對幻術和消耗物品的修改、更多有關實時PvP對戰的開發等!在仔細研究過後定必向大家公佈,還請大家密切期待!
